Having spent 11 years in a variety of export and trade-related roles helping Australian firms to expand their business overseas, the most recent being Australian Consul and Trade Commissioner for Hokkaido, Japan,

Joanna moved to Shellharbour and established her business consulting company, Global Solutions Strategies, in 2006. As Director of that company, she has now worked closely with over 350 SMEs in the Illawarra region assisting them to improve and expand their business and has provided assistance to Federal, State and local governments by acting as their Small Business Specialist/Lead Consultant for high growth business programs such as Economic Gardening and Biz Booster.

In addition, as Mentor in Residence/Adviser, she provides mentoring and coaching services to the residents of the iAccelerate Hub; an IT incubator set up and run by the University of Wollongong in 2012, as well as running lectures and workshops on Sales and Marketing.

Joanna has a wealth of experience helping firms better understand their markets and opportunities, wherever they may be, and is able to identify each firm’s competitive advantage and hence the most appropriate marketing mix to promote themselves effectively. With her motto being “Above all, your success”, she focuses strongly on achieving results.

Since moving to the Illawarra, a region she has come to love, she has become determined to work with and assist the people here and is looking forward to utilising her internationally gained high-level business experience and professional skills to contribute innovative strategies and solutions to the RDA Board.
