Close to 40 business representatives gathered last week to learn about the National Disability Scheme and the opportunities this presents for business growth. Hosted by the Disability Trust at Finance Control in Warrawong, Eddy De Gabriele (RDA Illawara Board Chair) gave an impassioned introduction to the event, urging stakeholders to treat the changes introduced by the NDIS as opportunities for business growth and improvement rather than obstacles.

Ed Birt (The Disability Trust) then gave a broad overview of the NDIS, followed by Pam Stiff (The Disability Trust) who explored the opportunities for local businesses given that within the Illawarra the NDIS will be bringing $280 million in funding for approximately 8,000 NDIS participants.
