The State election was held on 28 March with the Liberal-National Coalition under Premier Mike Baird returned. While there were no changes to electorate representation in the Illawarra there were, however, shifts in parliamentary responsibilities to note:

  • John Barilaro has the portfolios of Regional Development, Skills and Small Business
  • Andrew Constance is now Minister for Transport and Infrastructure
  • Duncan Gay is the custodian of Roads, Maritime and Freight
  • John Ajaka retains Ageing and Disability and now has added Multiculturalism
  • Stuart Ayers covers Trade, Tourism, Major Events and Sport
  • Gareth Ward is now the Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and is to report to Cabinet quarterly
  • Ryan Park takes on the role of Shadow Minister for Transport and Infrastructure and Shadow Minister for the Illawarra
  • David Harris will shadow Regional Development, Skills and Small Business
  • Jodi McKay is Shadow Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight
  • Sophie Cotsis is shadow for Ageing, Disability and Multiculturalism
  • Local MPs Noreen Hay (Wollongong), Anna Watson (Shellharbour) and Lee Evans (Heathcote) were returned
